Our laying hens are fed certified organic and non-GMO feed to supplement the nutrition they get from foraging the pasture grasses and insects.  We provide our chickens shelter and nesting area in a mobile coop which is rotated through the pasture.   We follow the rotational grazing model of regenerative agriculture where our sheep and goats graze the pasture and the hens follow.  This rotation allows us to manage the grass and gently fertilize the soil while adding organic matter to the land.  Many studies have shown that hens raised on pasture produce eggs that are higher in vitamins and minerals including more Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Beta-carotene and less saturated fats.  You can find more detailed information and published research here.
