our roots
Owner-operator Kala Eichamer’s farming path began while working as a pastry chef for a five-star hotel restaurant in the resort town of Mammoth Lakes, CA. While working in the food industry was rewarding, the quality and sourcing of production ingredients left much to be desired. In an effort to pursue her passion for the highest quality ingredients, Kala left her job and decided committed to a farming internship where she learned the daily operations of the farm, raising organic vegetables and caring for humanely raised animals. Kala, and her partner Josh moved to Humboldt in 2011 in search of a sustainable homestead and recently settled in the beautiful Elk River Valley. With untold hours of hard work and much needed support from her amazing family, neighbors, and local community, Kala is proud to now call herself a full-time farmer, offering the highest of quality ingredients to the local community.
